Well here we go again… it use to be every couple years you would hear things like this but now its happening every few months. Hollywood and the recording industry has had a love hate relationship with the internet since the first internet store opened but in the past year or so things have really started to heat up.
In a recent interview with “prince” he was quoted saying “The internet’s completely over. I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. The internet’s like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can’t be good for you.”
Yea thats right nutjob the Internet is over everyone turn in your computers and put on your balloon pants at the door of the time machine because we are headed back to 1986.
What some people don’t want to understand is The Interwebs now allows the people to have a higher input into what is and what is not cool… at the click of a mouse we get to choose what we like.. what we will pay for … and this means the industry has less ability to push crap down our throats or into our ears.
Of course that pisses them off because now entertainers need to be entertaining.
No longer can no talent mafia connected performers like Frank Sinatra dominate the market.
But unfortunately there are drawbacks.
As fast as stars can be made we are likely to end up with the Justin Biebers who seem to come out of no where but are really fakes. Highly promoted as a teen white boy sensation to appeal to the hearts of little white girls everywhere Bieber is backed by some of the lowest of the black rap scene. Yea if its not the BOOM BOOM BOOM of the cRappers its the baby baby baby of the tweensensation Biebers driving us out of our fricken minds.
lets face it it is all crap
but one thing is certain … you can’t stop the influence of the internet the Genie is out of the bottle and its rubbing us the right way….
